Swanwick conference
We are part of something big – really big.
Arriving at Swanwick early on Thursday afternoon and with time to kill I sat in my room pondering what my first CST conference would have in store. I was not to be disappointed. Phill Moon’s opening address on Thursday evening set the tone for the weekend as he skilfully examined some of the defining moments in our walk with Christ.
The following morning Dave Perry’s inspiring ‘bigger picture’ series on the God-drama of the Bible deftly picked up where Phill left off, as he made so accessible a subject of such epic proportions. Being so involved in the minutiae of school life, as indeed we all are, it was refreshing to be reminded of the bigger picture and gain some perspective on the work that we do week in, week out.
Early morning devotions and worship times were skilfully led drawing us into the presence of God whilst wonderfully prepared breakfasts provided us with the energy needed to accommodate the rich diet of the seminar programme!
Many new friends were made and at times it was too much to take in as heartfelt testimonies were shared and inspiring stories told from around the globe. I began to realise over this long weekend in Derbyshire that we are part of something big – really big. It seems to me that this movement is gaining momentum and influence whilst modelling excellence at every level. I don’t know about you but I’m proud to be a part of it.
