Leicester
God’s faithfulness in Leicester.
On November 7th 2008 we celebrated 7 years since a small group of us met together to pray about and pursue the vision for a Christian school in Leicester.
Since then we have seen many miracles of God’s provision. The first one being that we managed to open in September 02 just before new legislation came in which would have imposed a lot of restrictions upon us. The second was the provision through a local pastor of excellent premises at a very low cost. God gave us enough children to open and over the years has blessed us with a team of over 20 skilled and dedicated volunteer staff in addition to our 4 part-time employed staff.
We made a decision early on that we would give our children everything they needed. We also decided that we would pay our staff a fair salary. Finances have been tight as our income through fees has also been kept low so as not to put off families wanting to give their children a Christian education … but God has been faithful and all that we have needed He has provided, particularly through the giving of His people.
Recently we prayed for better PE provision and God provided a fully equipped sports centre within 5 minutes walk of the school with qualified PE staff to provide an hour’s session per week.
At the end of last academic year we grew to 28 children and God answered our cry for more space by providing us with a wonderful new mobile classroom for our KS2 children which was opened last May. Again, we were able to have a high quality DVD made, which we hope to use to promote the school further particularly throughout the local churches.
We are now looking forward to the next phase of growth where we believe God wants us to expand further beyond Year 9. We will need a Secondary trained Head Teacher. Beyond this and beyond our natural boundaries we are praying for a new building or an extension of our existing building. We don’t know what the future holds but we know who holds the future – our faithful and all-sufficient God; Emmanuel, God with us.
