Issue 19 intro
Welcome to the first e-edition of CST’s magazine, WingSpan. We have moved to this format to enable us to get WingSpan to more people than has previously been possible. Our aim is to be able to deliver news of what God is doing to every teacher, parent and supporter in CST schools. Please help us by forwarding this magazine to anybody you know who fits that description and by asking them to send us their contact details for future editions.
Our conference ‘From Desktop to Destiny’ was an enormous success with 200 people in attendance; you can read one delegate’s reflections on that below. For those not able to be there one seminar which proved very popular was given by Dr Arthur Jones entitled ‘Countering the Atheist Attack on Faith and Faith Schools’, it is available to listen to and can be ordered from the CST office.
We have also seen encouraging progress in the development of CST’s teacher training work. Although we have been working at this for many years with much hard work and prayer we have not yet reached our goal. Eventually we aim to see a first degree established which will give graduates a firm Christian basis for their teaching philosophy and practice whilst qualifying them to teach in any school. Recently the Lord has shown us the next step in this journey and in September 2010 we are expecting to begin a foundation year course for those considering teaching as a career. This will be a combination of tutorial work, mentoring and practical placements including one overseas. For more details contact us.
